|Iran asks intl. community to support Iraq in campaign against terrorism||
TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham has urged the international community to support Iraq in its campaign against terrorism.
She strongly condemned the recent terrorist bombings in Baghdad which claimed the lives of many people and injured many more, the IRNA news agency quoted her as saying on Saturday.
The terrorists have increased their activities in Iraq due to the double standards of some countries toward terrorism, she said.
Afkham added that the terrorists want to disrupt Iraq’s upcoming parliamentary elections.
She also expressed hope that the security and stability of Iraq would be maintained.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Iraq on April 30, 2014.
On Friday, a car bombing followed by a suicide attack struck a rally for the Sadiqun bloc, the political wing of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq (League of the Righteous) militia, killing 33 people and injuring over 100.
