Iranian envoy meets president of Tatarstan

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_NA2(30).jpgTEHRAN – The Iranian ambassador to Russia and the president of Tatarstan have held a meeting in Kazan in which they exchanged views on bilateral relations.
 
Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sanaei and Tatar President Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov emphasized the need to expand relations between Iran and Tatarstan in the cultural, economic, industrial, and scientific spheres, the ISNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
 
Minnikhanov said Tatarstan is seeking to expand ties with Iran and expressed hope that a new chapter could be opened in bilateral relations.
 
Sanaei said there are many cultural affinities that are encouraging Iran and Tatarstan to strengthen their ties.
 
And Iranian businessmen and investors should be informed about Tatarstan’s great potential in order to boost bilateral cooperation, he added.
 
He also said that Iran and Tatarstan have witnessed a great expansion in their ties since Vladimir Putin was elected president of Russia in May 2012 and Hassan Rouhani was elected president of Iran in June 2013.
