“All groups of the country should support the negotiations,” Larijani said on Sunday, and warned against making any “commotion” at this juncture, when the country is “not in a normal situation.”
Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) are leading negotiations to build on an interim deal struck in November, under which Tehran agreed not to expand its nuclear program for six months in exchange for limited sanctions relief.
On Saturday, hundreds of critics of the government gathered at the former U.S. embassy in Tehran to protest against the deal.
