|Iran rejects claims of supplying chlorine bombs to Syria||
TEHRAN – The Iranian Foreign Ministry has rejected as “false” and “baseless” the report by the British Daily Telegraph accusing Tehran of supplying chlorine bombs to the Syrian government.
“Considering the original source of the news, which is a news agency affiliated to the Zionist regime, it gets more than clear that the claim is fabricated,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
“It is not the first time that this Zionist news outlet spreads lies in order to divert the public attention away from the realities,” the statement added.
The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday cited the Israeli military website Debkafile as claiming that Iran was supplying Syria with the new Chinese-made chlorine bombs being used against the rebels.
Syria is gripped by a three-year-old war between the pro-government forces and Western-backed rebels. The deadly violence has left millions of Syrian people homeless and has taken the lives of more than 150,000 people.
