|Expediency Council to study probe into officials’ wealth||
TEHRAN – Iran’s Expediency Council has decided to review a bill on probing the assets and wealth owned by Iranian officials and top directors.
The bill, passed earlier by the parliament, was rejected by the Guardian Council on the grounds that it contravened the Constitution and the Sharia law.
The Expediency Council, chaired by Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, held its meeting on Saturday at the presence of a number of officials including the president and the Judiciary chief.
The council can mediate in disputes over legislation between the Majlis and the Guardian Council.
