|Iranian Army stages missile exercise||
TEHRAN – The Iranian Army on Friday started a two-day missile exercise in the central province of Isfahan.
On the first day of the maneuvers, the Fajr artillery rocket and the medium-range Nazeat ballistic missile were fired and successfully hit the designated targets.
The infantry, cavalry, and artillery units of the Army and the fighter jets of the Iranian Air Force will take part in the final stage of the war games, which will be held on Saturday.
Army Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan told reporters that the exercise is being held to enhance the operational capabilities of the armed forces.
He also announced that the Army plans to hold three more specialized military exercises by the end of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21.
He said that a specialized drone exercise will be held, in which the drones that are able to fire air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles will be used.
In addition, he said that in another specialized military exercise, the Army forces will practice electronic warfare measures.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Pourdastan said that the Army also plans to hold two joint war games with other military forces of the country, including the Air Force, the Navy, and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, by the end of the current year.
