|Iran’s IRGC seizes ship carrying smuggled fuel||
TEHRAN – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) seized a ship carrying 500,000 liters of smuggled fuel in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Somali-registered oil tanker was bound for a Persian Gulf Arab state, the ISNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
The IRGC’s naval squadron suspected the oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and during inspections this large consignment of gasoline was discovered and seized, the report said.
13 smugglers with Somali nationalities were detained.
The seized ship and 13 detainees were handed over to legal authorities in the coastal province of Hormozgan in southern Iran.
