|West has not done any concrete move in drug campaign: Iran police official||
TEHRAN – Iran’s anti-drug police chief said on Sunday that Western countries have not taken any practical step in the fight against drug trafficking, IRNA reported.
“Over the past three decades Western countries have had a political view toward the issue of drugs and we are not witnessing the least practical move on their side,” Ali Mo’ayedi told reporters.
The remarks by police official came as the ambassadors of the Mini-Dublin group and the representatives of international organizations in Tehran visited the Taibad outpost near Iran’s border with Afghanistan.
He said the UN has declared Iran as the champion of the campaign against illegal drugs and this is a proof that Iran has prevented the shipment of “thousands of tons” of drugs to other countries.
