|Iran ready to cooperate with new Egyptian government: MP||
TEHRAN – Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi says that the Islamic Republic is ready to cooperate with the new Egyptian government.
Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Majlis Committee for National Security and Foreign Policy, made the remarks during an interview with Al-Alam television channel on Sunday.
New Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the former military chief who toppled Egypt’s first freely elected leader, Mohamed Mursi, won the country’s presidential election held in May, with election officials saying he won more than 96% of last month’s vote.
Boroujerdi noted that if the policies of the new Egyptian government are based on mutual respect and mutual interests, Iran will definitively reciprocate such policies.
He added that the Islamic Republic considers Egypt as one of the most influential Arab countries that enjoys thousand years of history and civilization.
