The Leader made the remarks during a meeting with a number of officials and researchers of the Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research in Tehran on Monday.
“Piety, divine intention, and reliance on God are the components of jihadi movement and endeavor,” he noted, adding that if scientific attempts are in line with piety, the outcomes and results will be far from harming mankind.
He took nuclear know-how as an example of advancement of the man and said, “Despite its great importance, the [nuclear] know-how has prepared the ground for the production of destructive atomic weaponry which is one-hundred percent against humanity.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also urged the Iranian nation to achieve scientific progress and gain knowledge that would not do any harm to mankind.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he stated that the motto of “we can” should be promoted across the country, adding that the Iranian people should seek to manufacture scientific products which the scientists of other countries have so far failed to make.
