|Japan hails Rouhani administration’s trust-building efforts||
TEHRAN – Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Nobuo Kishi on Wednesday expressed Tokyo’s willingness to bolster ties with the Islamic Republic and hailed efforts by Hassan Rouhani’s administration to build up trust at the international level.
Kishi made the remarks during in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran.
The Japanese official also praised Iran for adopting a fresh foreign policy and asked Tehran to continue it.
The diplomat’s remarks were indirect references to Iran’s more transparent cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency about its nuclear energy program and launching an intensive diplomatic campaign to resolve protracted nuclear dispute with the West.
The visiting Japanese deputy foreign minister also called for expansion of ties between Tehran and Tokyo.
During the meeting, the diplomat also handed over a written message for the Iranian President to Zarif from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
On his arrival on Monday, Kishi also held a meeting with Iranian First Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi.
