|Iranian, British chief diplomats discuss Iraq on phone||
TEHRAN – The chief diplomats of Iran and Britain held telephone talks on Sunday about the ongoing developments in Iraq.
The conversation between Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and British Foreign Secretary William Hague come as insurgents from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have launched a massive massacre in areas that they have brought under their control in northwest Iraq.
ISIL, an al Qaeda splinter group, has posted chilling photos on internet showing the executions of Iraqi security forces. It wants to establish a caliphate that would stretch from Iraq into northern Syria.
