“Any act that strengthens takfiri groups is haram,” the Iranian ayatollah said in his message.
Ayatollah Shobeiri stated that the “horrific” and “brutal” attacks against the Iraqi people cause “pain” in the heart of every human being.
“Such inhumane acts, which are carried out by terrorists and takfiri groups, are not in accordance with any Islamic, religious, or humanitarian principles” he noted.
He said the rise of such groups is the result of the views of “biased” and “foolish” extremists who commit the wildest crimes under the banner of monotheism and falsely present the compassionate face of Islam in a violent manner.
Ayatollah Shobeiri also called on all Iraqi people, both Shias and Sunnis, to avoid divisiveness and to counter the terrorist groups.
