|Signing deals between Iran and Russia on the way: ambassador||
TEHRAN – The Iranian ambassador to Moscow has said that Iran and Russia are on the road for a better economic interaction, noting that cooperation in oil and gas industries will be boosted.
Mehdi Sanai made the remarks on the sidelines of the 21st World Petroleum Congress in Moscow, reports said on Friday.
A new chapter has been opened in Iran-Russia relations and both countries’ presidents are determined to expand it, he stated.
Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Hamidreza Araqi who had also attended the congress said Iranian and Russian officials are serious to promote cooperation in gas industries.
He added the Iranian private sector should increase its ability to implement the country’s oil and gas projects in cooperation with foreign companies as the government has adopted the strategy to hand over projects to the private sector.
Araqi, who is also the National Iranian Gas Company managing director, added that due to various reasons foreign countries paid special attention to Iran’s presence at the forum.
The 21st World Petroleum Congress was held in Moscow from 15 to 19 June 2014.
World Petroleum Congress is an important economic event in energy sphere which is held every three years.
