|Rouhani issues directive calling for support of knowledge-based companies||
TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani issued a directive on Saturday calling for support of knowledge-based companies.
The directive was addressed to all members of the cabinet, who were tasked with implementing it.
In the directive, Rouhani asks all organizations affiliated with the executive branch of government to sign contracts with knowledge-based economies or to order the production of goods by those companies.
The need to support the development of knowledge-based companies and reduce the number of unemployed university graduates was cited in the directive as some of the reasons for the issuance of the directive.
Vice president for scientific affairs Sorna Satari recently said 300 knowledge-based companies have been confirmed as qualified and in the future “we should use products of these companies.”
