|‘Plan to boost birthrate should respect civil rights’||
TEHRAN – The Iranian government spokesman said on Wednesday that any plan or act to boost birthrate in the country should be devised in a way that would not violate civil rights.
Mohammad Bagher Nobakht told reporters that the government will oppose any act that violates civil rights and public health.
Recently, the Iranian parliament decided to discuss banning vasectomies and introducing punishments, including jail sentence from two to five years, for those involved in encouraging and using sterilization methods.
