Iraq has the right to reach out to its neighbors for support, Kirby said, but the United States is not going to coordinate its military activities with Tehran.

Iranian officials have time and again ruled out rumors that Iran has sent military forces or arms to Iraq, emphasizing that Tehran is simply providing military consultations to Baghdad.
