|Iran needs 50,000 centrifuges: official||
TEHRAN – Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, says the country needs 50,000 centrifuges to meet its need for producing 20,000 megawatts of nuclear electricity.
If Iran continues its uranium enrichment at the current capacity, it will need to install more than 50,000 centrifuges of the same generation, Kamalvandi said in an interview with the Nasimonline published on Saturday.
He added that if the talks on Iran’s nuclear program lead to a comprehension deal and all constraints on the country are removed, Iran will not necessarily opt to domestically produce all the nuclear fuel it needs.
He went on to say that if the other party engaged in nuclear talks with Iran, decides to supply the country with enriched nuclear fuel, Tehran will be able to spend the fund on other fields.
