c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_NA3(27).jpgTEHRAN - Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has elaborated on the events occurring in Islamic countries, saying that some ‘ignorant’ elements derailed the Islamic Awakening movement.
He made the remarks in a meeting with clergymen and university professors in Tehran on Sunday.
He stated that despotism, extremism and arrogance are the blight of Islamic countries.
The most serious problem that revolutionary Muslims face is lack of a leader like Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, Rafsanjani stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he emphasized the role played by unity in the Islamic countries.
