|Larijani discusses Gaza with IIPU troika||
TEHRAN – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani held separate telephone conversations with his Sudanese counterpart Fatih Ezzedine al-Mansur and his Malian one Issaka Sidibe on Sunday, discussing the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The African countries of Sudan and Mali are the current and future heads of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) respectively.
In his talks with the Sudanese and Malian officials, Larijani called for an urgent meeting of the troika of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union on Gaza.
Since July 8 the Israeli Air Force has waged a mass military assault on different parts of the Gaza Strip.
The raids have so far resulted in the killing of at least 170 Palestinians, mostly women and children. According to Palestinian medical sources, above 1200 people have also been injured so far.
The Iranian parliament speaker condemned the silence of the international community and international bodies over the inhuman crimes of the Zionist regime, saying that all the countries, specifically Islamic states, are responsible toward the Zionist regime’s massacre and crimes.
He highlighted the important role and responsibility of the Islamic countries’ parliaments regarding the killing of the oppressed Palestinian people and asked for necessary actions in this respect.
