The Republican representative claimed that extending the talks indicates Iran’s lack of commitment to the Joint Plan of Action and called for tightening sanctions against Iran.

“News that the Administration and the P5+1 have extended the interim nuclear agreement with Iran for an additional 4 months illustrates that Iran is not committed to dismantling its nuclear program,” she wrote on her website ros-lehtinen.house.gov.

“Had the President come to Congress before making this decision, he would have received an emphatic no, and we would have moved forward on additional sanctions. So instead, he opted to yet again do an end around on Congress and act unilaterally to extend the agreement and continue with the easement of sanctions,” she added.
