Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs, made the remarks during a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to the UN Bashar Ja’afari in Tehran on Monday.
He praised the resistance of the Syrian government and people in the face of crises created in the country and said Syria has entered a new phase by holding presidential election.
The Iranian diplomat expressed hope that the political process will be completed by practical actions that the Syrian government will take in the future.
Presidential elections were held in Syria on June 3, 2014.
For his part, Ja’afari said that the Syrian army’s victories against insurgents and the political successes, especially the holding of presidential election, have made the enemies angry.
