TEHRAN – Free religious practices by minorities in Iran shows the respect paid to the issue of human rights in the Islamic Republic, the priest of the Armenian Prelacy of Urmia said on Saturday.
During a meeting between the council members of the Armenian Prelacy of Urmia and the governor of the northwestern city of Chaldoran, Priest Nerses Basilian hailed the efforts made by Iranian officials to safeguard the rights of the country’s religious minorities, IRNA reported.
“Today, under the umbrella of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, all religious minorities enjoy favorable security and welfare,” he said.
