“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s general policy on Iraq is (supporting) national unity (in Iraq),” Hossein Naqavi Hosseini told the Tasnim news agency on Wednesday.

The Iraqi government, parliament, and nation know well that the Iranian government has always supported peace and security in Iraq, Naqavi Hosseini said, reacting to claims raised by the al-Arabia website about Iran’s interference in Iraq.

He further noted that Iran strongly recommends Iraqi political parties to maintain unity, adding that Tehran attaches great importance to security in Iraq.
