The Iranian military is monitoring everything in the region and beyond, analyzing each kind of threat and drawing up proper plans to counter it, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said.
He added that the Iranian Navy has full control over the security of shipping lanes in open seas and will give a crushing response to pirates in case of attacks.
Sayyari pointed to recent successful missions of Iran’s Navy in open seas, including the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea.
Iran’s 30th Navy Fleet conducted its 100-day mission successfully and returned the country in July.
During its mission, the fleet had been in the Indian Ocean, the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea and passed the Equator and also made stops at Sudan, Dar es Salaam and Salalah ports.
Iran’s 31th navy fleet has been sent to the open seas to replace the Navy’s 30th Fleet.
