|Rafsanjani proposes establishment of think tank to counter enemy’s plots||
TEHRAN - Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who is currently the chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council, has said that it is essential to establish a regional think tank to counter “complicated plots” in the Middle East region in particular and the entire Islamic world.
Rafsanjani made the remarks during a meeting of the Expediency Council on Saturday.
In the think tank, all the experts in international relations should cooperate with each other to find a way to resolve the current regional crises, he stated.
He went on to say that all Muslims, both Shias and Sunnis, should find appropriate solutions to the crises in the region created by the Zionist regime and extremist and terrorist groups.
Rafsanjani’s comments come as the militants of the terrorist group that calls itself the Islamic State are waging a bloody campaign in Iraq and Syria and Israel is waging a war against Gaza. Many civilians have been killed in both conflicts.
Rafsanjani also said that Iran will maintain its status in the region and has the power to help resolve regional crises.
Commenting on the Palestine issue, he said the Zionist regime’s offensive in the Gaza Strip has created “the most inhumane scenes in the history of the world.”
Israel is conducting intensive attacks on the Gaza Strip. The death toll is approaching 1900, with women and children the main victims.
