Tunisian president calls for close ties with Iran

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_NA1(104).jpgTEHRAN – Tunisian President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki has expressed content over the growing relations between Tunisia and Iran and called for expansion of ties in all spheres, IRNA reported on Sunday.
During a meeting with Iranian ambassador Peyman Jebeli, Marzouki expressed hope that constant talks and consultations among the two countries’ officials would lead to better relations.
The Tunisian leader also praised Iran’s scientific and technologic advances.
Marzouki also said Iran has inalienable right to peaceful use of nuclear energy and expressed Tunisia’s support for Iran’s nuclear program.
For his part, Jebeli thanked the Tunisian president for favoring close cooperation between the two countries.
He said that relations and cooperation will be increased by strong determination of the both countries’ officials.
Jebeli whose mission has ended in Tunisia also held separate meetings with some other Tunisian officials, including the parliament speaker and foreign minister.
