|Saudi Arabia says willing to improve ties with Iran||
TEHRAN – Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal has said that Riyadh is ready to improve relation with Tehran based on mutual interests.
“We are ready to improve our bilateral relations based on shared interests, honesty, and openness,” said Faisal on Sunday during a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Riyadh Hossein Sadeqi.
The Iranian ambassador submitted his credentials to the Saudi foreign minister and said that the Islamic Republic assigns a high priority to the expansion of ties with neighboring countries, including Saudi Arabia.
Separated by about 250 km of Persian Gulf waters, Shia Muslim power Iran and Sunni-led Saudi Arabia have often tense relations.
