Iran says backs any effort to lift Gaza siege

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that Tehran supports any political efforts to exert pressure on the Zionist regime to end the siege on the Gaza Strip, fully stop attacking it, and give guarantees that attacks will not be repeated.
 
He made the remarks during a meeting on Tuesday with the special envoys of the South African president to Iran.
 
Zarif stated that all member states of the Non-Aligned Movement should make effort to facilitate sending aid to the Gaza Strip.
 
The South African envoys praised Iran’s position on the Palestine issue and highlighted the importance of cooperation between Tehran and Pretoria to facilitate sending aid to the Gaza Strip.
