|Iran plans to build glass Laboratory in Persian Gulf waters||
TEHRAN - The Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIO) has announced plans to establish a glass laboratory deep in the waters of the Persian Gulf, IRNA reported.
According to the INIO head, the facility would be built 30-40 meters deep into the Persian Gulf waters to provide ease of access to divers.
Vahid Chegeni added that the INIO is now working on planning and estimating the possible cost of the project.
He added that the facility includes a glass-made structure, from the inside of which scientists can observe the water for hours without having to wear diving gear, IRNA reported.
According to Chegeni, the glass laboratory is a natural one, meaning that the required samples and measurement equipment are close to one another.
Salt content, temperature, and the water’s chemistry and physics are among parameters to be analyzed in the glass lab, Chegeni explained.
