|Revisiting Parchin military site is out of the question: defense chief||
TEHRAN - Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan has said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has conducted the necessary inspections of the Parchin military site and revisiting the facility is out of question.
He made the remarks during a press conference in Tehran on Saturday.
The IAEA has visited the Parchin military site and taken samples for so many times and there is no need for a revisit, he stated.
Commenting on the issue of explosive detonators, he said the IAEA has not raised new questions in this regard.
----Iran’s missile program non-negotiable
Elsewhere in his remarks, the defense minister said that Iran’s missile program is non-negotiable.
Iran’s missile program is not part of nuclear talks and the Joint Plan of Action, and therefore it will not be negotiable, Dehqan said.
Based on the interim nuclear deal, known as JOPA, which was signed between Iran and the major powers in November last year, some sanctions against Iran were eased. Accordingly, Iran agreed to slow down its nuclear activities.
Dehqan also stated that Iran will not release any information about experts in defense industry.
-----------Iran is ‘harbor’ of stability in the region
Iran enjoys a strategic situation in the region and the stability of its system is a model to the world, Dehqan said, adding that Iran is “harbor” of stability in the region.
He also said the presence of foreign forces in the region is a source of instability.
As far as the foreign forces are in the region and regional countries follow outside powers’ policies, the security balance in the region would be volatile.
In its efforts to counter regional instability Iran has been fighting against the elements that have undermined security in the region.
---------4 new defense products to be unveiled
The defense minister also stated that 4 new defense products in aerial, missile and surveillance industries are scheduled to be unveiled on Sunday.
The products will be unveiled by President Hassan Rouhani, he added.
