|France’s decision to deal with ISIL noteworthy: deputy FM||
TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said that the French government’s decision to take measures to deal with Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant terrorists in Iraq is “noteworthy”.
“The decision by France and some other Western countries to mount a campaign to deal with terrorism in Iraq, although belated, is noteworthy,” Amir-Abdollahian told the Mehr news agency on Monday.
Efforts should be made to combat terrorism all around the world, the diplomat said.
The comments followed a recent call by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius for all countries in the region, including Iran, to join the fight against Islamic State fighters who have seized large swathes of Iraq and Syria.
