|Government resolved to probe PhD scholarships: VP||
TEHRAN – Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri has said that the government is determined to pursue the case of granted scholarships to nearly 3,000 PhD students by the previous government.
He made the remarks at a ceremony on Sunday held to honor former science minister Reza Faraji-Dana for his efforts in office.
The Iranian parliament voted to dismiss Faraji-Dana during an open session on Wednesday. The MPs had cited a number of reasons for their decision to impeach and oust the science minister, including the cancellation of the scholarships of a number of PhD students.
“This government will definitely pursue the case of illegal scholarships, even if 10 science ministers would be changed,” Jahangiri said.
