Iran’s Justice Minister, Hojatoleslam Mostafa Pourmohammadi, says the administration will seriously probe allegations of unlawful fellowships granted to some individuals in the previous government.
“The government is not only in the pursuit of great crimes, but also smaller wrongdoings would be seriously dealt with,” Pourmohammadi told a press briefing on the occasion of Government Week, IRNA reported.
“The administration takes great scrutiny in wrongdoings committed by individuals within the government, and tries to minimize such fraud, corruption, and crime, and would not allow corrupt individuals enter the government.
“Any unlawful activity would be seriously probed as it is the rights of the youths at stake here. The administration would pursue the issue with great care,” the minister noted.
Pourmohammadi noted that if found guilty, individuals who received unlawful scholarship grants would still be able to continue their education, but should pay back the cost of their own education and account for the privileges they received illegally.
