TEHRAN – U.S. naval forces in the Persian Gulf are obligated to speak in Persian in their radio communications with Iranian forces, according to the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Naval Force.

“We have declared to U.S. warships in the region that they should speak Persian in their radio communications with IRGC naval forces, and they have agreed to do so,” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi stated, Press TV reported on Sunday.

The United States has recently expanded its military presence in the Persian Gulf in the wake of the escalation of ISIL terrorist operations across Iraq.

Commenting on Iran’s powerful military presence in the Persian Gulf, he said IRGC naval forces are taking a firm stand against U.S. forces and other hostile forces in the region and defend Iran’s maritime borders.
