|Muslim states, including Iran, should help U.S. fight ISIL: Brzezinski||
TEHRAN – Former U.S. National Security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski has said that Muslim countries, including Iran, should help the United States in its fight against the militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
Talking to the CNN’s GPS show hosted by journalist Fareed Zakaria on Sunday, Brzezinski said this fight cannot be an American enterprise led from the top.
“It has to be an enterprise in which America’s active and suggestive and plays a major role, particularly from the air, but is also one in which other Muslim countries have to be more responsibly involved,” he said.
“Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt come to mind immediately. In a more limited fashion Iran which is a Shiite state,” Brzezinski added.
