 BANDAR ABBAS – An Iranian national, Hossein Ashtari, plans to swim the distance between the Iranian islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs to convey the message that the name of the “Persian Gulf” cannot be distorted.
The symbolic move will take place on the Persian Gulf Day, which will be commemorated on April 29.
The plan has been arranged by the Tehran Municipality.
“The most important purpose of this move is to help defend the lofty name of the Persian Gulf,” said Hossein Heydari, the head of the swimming team that will travel to the Persian Gulf.
