| Navy rescues Iranian merchant ship from pirates |

TEHRAN – An attempt by pirates to hijack an Iranian merchant ship in the Red Sea was foiled by the Iranian Navy, Deputy Navy Commander Mahmoud Mousavi announced on Monday.
When the ship came under attack by four speed boats, Iranian commandoes rescued the ship and put the pirates to flight.
On Saturday, the Navy thwarted another attempt by pirates to hijack an Iranian Tanker which was sailing near the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
