TEHRAN - Deputy chief of the Literacy Movement Organization of Iran has recently said that 3.456,000 Iranians must learn how to read and write in the next two years.
On eradicating illiteracy, Mohammad Mehdizadeh told the Mehr News Agency
that having a population with “zero illiteracy” makes no sense because some people may not be in good emotional and physical health to learn.
“However, we are aiming to teach majority of illiterates and teach them how to read, write and calculate; they need to learn how to recite Quran as well,” Mehdizadeh explained.
