TEHRAN - The head of research and planning organization of the Ministry of Education has said there will be drastic changes in teaching English language to the 9th graders in the upcoming school year.

Mohyedin Bahram Mohammadian, in an interview with the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency published on Wednesday, said that forthcoming changes to context of the English books in high schools and methods of teaching the English language to high school students are to improve the students’ four skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Mohammadian went on to say that a couple of books have been considered for the 9th graders: One of the books will help students with their listening, reading, and speaking skills and the other one will help them improve their writing ability.

The changes are made in favor of teaching Iranian students how to use the foreign language in their everyday lives and future careers, he explained.
