TEHRAN – For the first time in Iran organs of a brain-dead hemophiliac boy have been donated to 7 children, the Mehr News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Taha, aged 4, was playing in the yard at home when a steel door crashed on his head. Despite receiving proper medical care, several days after the accident, Taha woke up to an excruciating headache and unfortunately died due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
His parents, devastated by the death of their precious son, decided to turn around the misery to a greater cause. They thought of donating Taha’s body organs to children in need. That way they would see their son’s soul living every day in the life of children they were able to rescue.
Now the boy’s organs and tissues including eyes, kidneys, heart and even his skin, have brought life back to 7 other kids and that is what they would call “a life worthy of living”, although it was short-lived.
It is worthy of mention that except for their livers, there is no restriction in donating hemophiliacs’ body parts, organs or tissues.
