| ‘Schoolbooks to include materials on preventing drug abuse’ |

 TEHRAN - An Iranian anti-drug official says the Education Ministry plans to include materials in textbooks to counter drug abuse among pupils.
“Last (school) year, information on primary prevention of substance abuse was included in the high school freshmen’s biology book,” Babak Dinparast said on Monday.
Dinparast said family background, peer pressure, friends and social environment could all prepare the ground for a tendency toward drugs among students.
He also said a working group will be established with cooperation of the Education Ministry to set an agenda on how to treat drug addicted pupils and to provide treatment facilities for them.
