c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_12_school-bus-drivers-pic.jpgTEHRAN – The head of education department for Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in Tehran has announced that 10,000 school bus drivers are getting training in child and adolescent psychology as well as the skill of driving.
 
According to a report published on Saturday by the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency, Ahmad Reza Imani said that the training courses are divided into two parts: One that deals with the psychology of children and the other that helps drivers how to drive skillfully.   
 
Imani also added that the rate of student transportation has increased by maximum 25 percent compared to the last academic year, depending on the location of the school. For instance, in the slums of the city the rate has spiked by 15, in the middle class neighborhoods by 20 and in the uptown area by 25 percent. 
  
The new academic year starts on September 23.
 
Elsewhere in his remarks Imani added that around 17,000 assorted vehicles (school buses and cabs) will provide transportation services for 110,000 students in Tehran in the upcoming school year.
