| Iran to introduce 5 new foreign languages in schools |

TEHRAN – In addition to English the Iranian Education Ministry plans to include the teaching of German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and French languages in schools, a ministry official says.
The decision to teach these languages has been ratified by the high council of the Education Ministry, the council’s secretary, Mahdi Navid Edham, told the Mehr News Agency.
Edham said the purpose behind the introduction of this plan is to break the monopolization of the English language.
