5 million Iranian children suffer from asthma

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_may02_09_12_asthma.jpgTEHRAN - Head of the Iranian Society of Asthma and Allergy (ISAA) announced on Sunday that more than five million children and young adults suffer from asthma in Iran.
 
Addressing a congress at the asthma and allergy research center to mark the World Asthma Day, Dr. Mostafa Mo’in said about 13-14 percent of children and young adults have clinical symptoms of asthma such as coughing, wheezing, stridor and dyspnea that 5.1 to 7.5 percent of them have asthma.
 
Mo’in also enumerated some factors such as urbanization, pollution, apartment living, passive smoking, fast-food consumption, and immobility as some of the causes of the rise in Asthma cases in the country.
