Two Iranian wrestlers win bronzes at Olympics

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_13-1(56).jpgIranian freestyle wrestlers Ehsan Lashgari and Komeil Ghasemi won two bronze medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games on Saturday.
 
Lashgari defeated Ibrahim Bolukbasi of Turkey 3-1 in the men's 84kg freestyle wrestling at ExCel.
 
“I deserved to win the gold medal but I lost it just for a mistake in the semifinals,” the 27-year-old said. 
 
Asked if he could win the gold medal in the next Olympics, Lashgari said, “If there is the next.”
 
Georgia's Dato Marsagishvili also won the bronze won the bronze medal in the weight class by beating Belarusian Soslan Gattsiev 3-1. 
 
Sharif Sharifov of Azerbaijan won the gold medal, beating Jaime Yusept Espinal of Puerto Rico 6-1, 2-0. 
 
At the men’s 120kg freestyle wrestling, Komeil Ghasemi defeated American Tervel Dlagnev 4-0, 0-1, 1-0.
 
In the second bronze medal bout, Russia’s Bilyal Makhov defeated Kazakhstan’s Daulet Shabanbay and finished at the third place. 
 
“I’ve worked very hard to win the medal. I am so happy since Iran had just one medal in the Olympics in the 120kg,” Ghasemi said. 
 
Artur Taymazov of Uzbekistan claimed his third straight gold medal in this class. He defeated Georgia's Davit Modzmanashvili to become the third male wrestler to win golds in three consecutive Olympics — along with Karelin and Alexander Medved of the former Soviet Union.
