.jpg) TEHRAN – Uzbekistan stunned host Iran in the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship semifinals on Wednesday.
The Iranian football team lost to Uzbekistan 3-2 in Tehran’s Dastgerdi’s Stadium.
Iran’s Majid Hosseini scored just four minutes into the match. Doctonbek Khamdamov equalized the match in the 13th minute and Izzatilla Abdullaev gave the visiting team a 2-1 lead in the 35th minute. Otabek Shukurov scored Uzbekistan’s third goal in the 43rd minute.
With two minutes remaining, Iran’s Amir-Mohammad Mazloum pulled a goal back.
Iran has already booked a place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup which will be held in the UAE in 2013.
