Olympic silver medalist Bagheri Motamed goes under the knife

The 26-year-old claimed the Olympic taekwondo silver medal in the men's 68kg division in London. Bagheri Motamed lost to Servet Tazegul of Turkey 5-4 at the Excel Center in London.
 
“Bagheri Motamed had successful surgery on his knee. He was suffering ligament damage before the Olympic Games,” Doctor Mohammad Razi said.
 
“Bagheri Motamed will be out of action for up to one year,” he added.
