Iran’s Azarshakib claims silver in “Ivan Yarygin” wrestling tournament

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_13-2(136).jpgMohammad-Reza Azarshakib from Iran claimed the silver medal of the 2013 Golden Grand Prix "Ivan Yarygin" on Sunday.
 
The Iranian freestyle wrestler lost to Nurasulov Magomed from Russia in the final of the 120kg weight class and finished at the second place. 
 
Iran took part in the tournament with nine wrestlers.   
 
The Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix is considered one of the toughest events in the world each year.
 
The competition brought about 200 wrestlers from 18 countries including, Russia (host), Iran, Japan, the U.S., Mongolia, Kazakhstan and France together in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. 
 
The motto of the competition this year was “The Yarygin tournament – is the homeland of strongmen”. 
 
Ivan Yarygin was a two-time champion of the Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling. From 1993 to 1997, he served as the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation. He died in October 11, 1997 in a car accident.
