FILA is the French acronym for the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles.

The competitions will take place at Tehran’s Azadi Hall from February 19 to 22.

“We have invited Mr. Nenad Lalovic to attend the event. We also invited Mr. Raphael Martinetti to come here. He has worked hard for wrestling during the past years,” Hassan Rangraz, the vice president of Iran Wrestling Federation, said on Sunday.

Raphael Martinetti, the president of the international wrestling federation, quit in the wake of the IOC's decision to remove the sport from the 2020 Olympics.

Last week, the executive board of the IOC dumped wrestling from the list of 25 sports guaranteed a berth in future Summer Olympics, meaning it must compete with other fringe sports for a spot on the 2020 program.
